The Mandalorian movie will conclude Din Djarin’s Disney+ arc as George Lucas’ apprentice. The Star Wars sequel trilogy was chaotic, but the franchise still found success with the Jon Favreau-created The Mandalorian. Follow Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin, who becomes the father figure of a child from the same species that Yoda named Grogu.

At Star Wars Celebrities 2023 in London, it was announced that Din and Grogu’s story is ending. Instead of wrapping it up with Disney+, it will go through a Mandalorian film directed by Dave FIloni.
What to Expect from The Mandalorian Movie
He worked closely with Filoni before Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney. After leading the animation pocket of Star Wars along with Star Wars & Star Wars Rebels he transitioned to live-action, helping Favreau to launch The Mandalorian. Filoni, however, is an apprentice to Lucas. Filoni may take a deeper dive into Jedi and Mandalore when the franchise’s conclusion is Din and Grogu.
It’s easy to predict that The Mandalorian movie will feature many familiar faces. There were already several Disney+ characters that made cameos, so it is likely that Lucasfilm would like to crank things up for the movie. Ahsoka, Zeb and possibly even Luke Skywalker could all make an appearance.
Finally, Season 3 of The Mandalorian Season 2 will likely serve as a stepping stone for whatever else happens in the movie. Current storytelling on the show is a deep dive into Mandalore, Mandalorian culture, and could be a factor in what happens next for Grogu or Din Djarin. The events from The Mandalorian movie might fill in some of the narrative gaps that will lead to the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
