As soon as the news about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock in Oscar 2022 spread like smoke, on Friday The Board of Governors at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences passed a decision and a statement banning him for 10 years in every event or program that will be getting conducted furthermore.
If truth be told, this initiative was taken to aware of the necessity of fundamental etiquette when Will Smith made an absurd move on Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, 2022. The Board of Governors at the Academy organized a meeting on Friday to have a detailed insight on the night of March 27 at the 2022 Oscars. Several conclusions have been kept forward for why Will hit Chris, one of them had it that Will could not bear the joke that Chris Rock (the comedian) had made on the expenses of Jada Pinkett Smith, being Will’s wife.
Since he could not tolerate the joke, he walked up onto the stage and bashed in the face of Chris. Although, Will also bragged and won the Oscar in the category of ‘Best Actor later that night.
Ever since the incident did happen, Will made an apology on both sides; to Chris Rock and the Academy, explaining how whatever he has done does not necessarily convey the virtues of the man that he is aiming to be. Shortly before the Academy decided against banning him, he drafted a resignation from the Academy.

They also said that they were unprepared for an unprecedented time like this.
How Chris Rock managed and dealt with the incident that night, went in everybody’s good books and the Academy gave thanks to him for the same, also how the presenters and night’s hosts did not let the show stop!
The wrapping up statement by the Academy read, “The action is a step leading to better goals that would help in the protection and safeguard of our guests, performers and earning back the trust of the Academy”.
The rumors have it that there have certainly been several calls from many prominent personalities of Hollywood, suggesting to take away Will’s Oscar which he had won later that night, which might have been a much not-needed and critical action.
