Samrat Prithviraj Box Office Collection Day 3 Akshay Kumar’s film faces tough competition from Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Adivi Shesh’s Major. Kalam Haasan has gone far ahead of Khiladi Kumar in this box office battle.

Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar’s period drama Samrat Prithviraj performed on average on its first weekend.

While it had earned Rs 10.70 crore on the first day, the figure rose slightly to 12.50 on Saturday, taking the total to Rs 23.2 crore.

Akshay Kumar’s film faces tough competition from Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Adivi Shesh’s Major. In this box office battle, Kamal Haasan has gone far ahead of Khiladi Kumar. Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ has crossed 150 crores in 3 days.

Emperor Prithviraj earned more than 23 crores on Friday and Saturday, then on Sunday, there was a slight jump in its earnings, and it reached beyond 16 crores.

In this way, the film’s total earnings have become 39.2 crores, and these are initial figures. It is possible to change them. On June 5, the film had 33% occupancy in the Hindi belt.

Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi told in an interview that he had been researching the story of this film for the last 18 years. The film, based on the life and times of Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, made on a mega-budget of 200 crores, had a slow opening at the box office.

The film was left behind by Karthik Aryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 2’, which had earned more than 55 crores on the first weekend.

Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Adivi Shesh’s Major are standing in the fray. While Vikram is flagging total world earnings, Major is also very much liked by the audience. Samrat Prithviraj collected around 39 crores at the domestic box office in three days, while Vikram has surpassed 100 crores.

The funny thing is that since the beginning of this year, South films have dominated, which Kamal Haasan seems to be taking forward. The coming time will also be challenging for Akshay Kumar; in such a situation, it will be interesting to see how much more Emperor Prithviraj can collect.

Meanwhile, Samrat Prithviraj has routed the other two regional releases– Vikram and Major– in the Hindi version. While Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram earned Rs 2 crore plus in the first weekend, Adivi Sesh’s Major collected Rs 5 crore. However, the two movies have done exceptionally well in the local markets.

Samrat Prithviraj’s first weekend has turned out to be suitable for the makers. But we shall wait for the film to pass Monday’s test. It would be interesting to see if it continues to maintain the pace through the week as it has all days working with no Holidays.
