For the first time, the ‘Senior Year’ performer and the lawyer spoke up about the event, which entailed a male cast member revealing himself to her when they were shooting a film together: “They were attempting to undermine me and my professional life.”

While being sexually abused by a male co-star while shooting a movie even before the #Metoo campaign stormed Hollywood, Rebel Wilson claims she “did make sure everybody knew what occurred” among Hollywood’s industry circles, leading to him attempting to “damage me and my career.”

In a recent interview with People magazine, the Senior Year star — who does have a degree at the University of New South Wales — described how she was sexually abused by an unidentified male co-star, who, upon inviting her into a locker and lifting “down his pants,” later asked her to “do the sexual act” in the front of his friends.

She described it as “terrible and horrible.” “And then there was all the subsequent behavior — before #MeToo — in which they attempted to sabotage me and my career.” I could just have blown them if that had occurred after #MeToo.”

Wilson later claimed that having legal knowledge aided her in documenting the situation with multiple parties. “I contacted my representative. “I had some things written down regarding what happened,” she explained. “I wanted to ensure everyone in the industry knew what occurred,” she says.

She added she realized others had reported him after bringing her allegation to her organization and the production, which she described as “a major step.”

“I discovered I was the fourth person to report about him,” she explained. “Such atrocious behavior, but many women have faced far worse.”

Wilson claimed she sometimes struggles with her reaction, even questioning why she continued in that job “with that nasty guy?” despite the reports.

“I must have left earlier.” It was not worth the effort. ‘Oh well, just do a decent thing, be a professional, and complete the movie,’ I thought. “I’d never do that now,” she remarked. “If that occurred again, I’d stand up even more for myself only because of the boldness of each of the women who have spoken up and given me this chance.”
