RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday called upon the G20 countries to resolutely address the challenges facing the global economy such as financial stability and debt distress.

At a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors, Das said the global economy has improved in the last few months and it is now expected that the world will not go into a major recession. Only growth will slow down or there will be a small recession.

Challenges have to be solved together

Das further said that challenges remain before us. In the medium to short term, we must together address any threats to climate finance, financial stability, and the debt crisis. We have to establish a path for greater global economic cooperation and strong, sustainable, balanced, and inclusive growth for the global economy.
