Kim Kardashian was saved from an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction by her daughter North West at the Met Gala. The 42-year-old made waves when she wore a Schiaparelli gown adorned with 50,000 pearls. Wearing pearls was more dangerous than she anticipated. Pearls on the bottom of the dress she was wearing broke while she was driving to the gala. Several pearls fell off.

Did North save Kim’s wardrobe from a malfunction?
Kim said to Vogue: “I wanted pearls. What else, Karl, could you add? “I always imagined the iconic Chanel pearls, so I wanted us to be dripping with pearls.” She was putting real pearls in her purse.

Kardashian’s outfit had 16,000 crystals, including pearls and crystal accessories. It also featured a sculpted top and draped bottom. According to reports, it took over 1,000 hours for a dozen artisans to create the ensemble, which included each pearl strand being strung and draped perfectly to her body.
North attended the Met Gala along with her mother, but she did not walk on the red carpet because of the age restriction. Kim’s Schiaparelli design was problematic throughout the evening. SKIIMS’ founder, Kim Schiaparelli, was seen returning to her New York City Hotel with pearl strands falling off the dress and scattered on the floor. Empty threads were also hanging loose.

Why chose Kim to wear a pearl-like look at the Met Gala?
This year’s Met Gala theme was ” Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, which emphasized the designer’s entire work and life. The dress code for this year was “in honor of Karl.” Michaela Coel was co-chaired by Penelope Cruz and Dua Lipa. Tennis pro Roger Federer, Anna Wintour, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, and Penelope Cruz were also on board. The annual gala is a benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, located in New York City.
