The rest of India beat Madhya Pradesh by a huge margin of 238 runs in the Irani Cup match. In the match played at Gwalior, the Rest of India batting first scored 484 runs in the first innings. In reply, Madhya Pradesh’s first innings was limited to 294 runs.
The rest of India got a huge lead of 190 runs on a first-innings basis. After this, the second innings of the Rest of India was all out for 246 runs and Madhya Pradesh got a target of 437 runs to win. Chasing a mammoth target, Madhya Pradesh’s second innings was all out for just 198 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the hero of the victory
Yashasvi Jaiswal was the hero of the Rest of India’s victory. The left-handed batsman scored 213 runs in the first innings. Then in the second innings, he scored 144 runs. In the second innings for the Rest of India, apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, no batsman could walk. For Madhya Pradesh, Avesh Khan, Ankit Kushwaha, Saransh Jain, and Shubham Sharma got two wickets each in the second innings. Kumar Kartikeya got a breakthrough.
Poor performance of Madhya Pradesh
Chasing a mammoth target, Madhya Pradesh got off to a very bad start. Mukesh Kumar did not even allow Arham Akeel to open the account and lbw out. Captain Himanshu Mantri (51) scored a half-century, but he did not get the support of other batsmen. Harsh Gawli (48), Aman Solanki (31), and Ankit Kushwaha (23) put up a fight, but it was not enough.
Saurabh Kumar took the maximum of three wickets from the Rest of India. Pulkit Narang, Atit Seth, and Mukesh Kumar got two wickets each. Navdeep Saini was successful in taking a wicket.
