Amitabh Bachchan has addressed followers who mocked him for wishing them a happy morning late on Sunday. The actor thanked fans in chaste Hindi for the taunts and insults and explained how he pulled an all-nighter and went to bed late, resulting in late greetings.
“A happy morning to you,” the megastar posted on Facebook (in Hindi). Since he shared this about 11:30 p.m., his admirers have begun to tease him, most in a lighthearted manner, but some with hate and abuse.
“Don’t you think you greeted good morning too soon?” one sarcastically wrote in Hindi. “Thankful for the taunt,” Amitabh said. I worked all night and woke up late, so I sent greetings. I apologize if you were offended.”
While polite, the actor was ruthless. One of the comments said, “Abey Buddha dopahar ho Gaye (Old guy, it’s afternoon).” The actor’s response was well received by his admirers. “I pray to God that when you grow old, no one insults you,” Amitabh wrote.
Some people mocked Amitabh for waking up late and then went off on a tangent. “I do not drink; make others drink Madhushala,” he retorted to a comment that the actor must have consumed country liquor the night before. The actor’s father, noted poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, wrote the poem Madhushala.
Many people stood by Amitabh as he faced insults. “People are responding as if they wake up in the Brahmamuhurta (one hour and 36 minutes before sunrise),” one person wrote. Many people praised the veteran actor’s work ethic and how, despite his age, he still works all night.
Amitabh was last spotted on the job on Runway 34. Brahma, a fantasy epic film, Uyarndha Manithan, and Butterfly, a Kannada film, are among his upcoming projects.
Was it not gracious that he greeted morning to his fans? Is it fine to mock the people in the old age group just because of how they are aging?
