The festival of Holi brings an atmosphere of joy and happiness. The colors of happiness are sprinkled all around, but it has often been seen at the box office that the colors of business remain dull on Holi. If we look at the box office collections of films released around Holi in the last few years, there are very few successful films.
This is how the box office was till 2017-2022
2022- Bachchan Pandey
The festival of Holi was celebrated on 18 March and Akshay Kumar‘s Bachchan Pandey was released on the same day. The film also included Kriti Sanon and Arshad Warsi in the main star cast. Bachchan Pandey took a decent opening and did a net collection of 13.25 crores on the first day, but after that, the pace of the film went down and was declared a flop with a lifetime collection of around 50 crores.

2021- Saina
It was a biopic film of badminton legend Saina Nehwal starring Parineeti Chopra. Released on March 26, the film could only take an opening of 25 lakhs and was declared a flop after collecting a lifetime collection of around 1.25 crores. However, in early 2021, the condition of theaters was not good due to the pandemic.
2020- Baaghi 3
This is the year when the pandemic started in India. Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 3, released on March 6, had taken a decent opening of 17.50 crores, but soon after the release of the film, the lockdown started and restrictions were imposed in theaters as well, due to which Baaghi 3 did not last long. The film did a lifetime collection of around 97 crores.

2019- Kesari
Akshay Kumar‘s first film Kesari was released on March 21 on the occasion of Holi in 2019. The film took an excellent opening of 21.06 crores and was a hit with a net collection of 153 crores.
2018- Pari
Anushka Sharma’s horror thriller film Pari was released on 2 March. The film took an opening of 4.36 crores and was declared average by collecting 24.65 crores net.
2017- Badrinath Ki Dulhania
In 2017, on the occasion of Holi, the bride of Badrinath had come on March 10. The Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer film celebrated Holi with a bang at the box office. The film had a lifetime collection of 116.60 crores with an opening of 12.25 crores and the film was declared a super hit.
Now you are a liar, I have fixed my eyes on the rascal.
This year, on March 8, right on Holi, Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is releasing. It is a romantic drama film. Ranbir has been successful in this genre. In such a situation, the film is expected to take a good start at the box office.
However, the negative point of releasing a film on a color day is that the occupancy in the morning shows is low. Because of this, the first-day collections may fall.
