In Shanghai, official data showed that 39 deaths have been reported this Sunday which has been the highest record of total deaths ever since the lockdown for a week-longs started. On the other hand, Beijing which is also the capital of China is being warned of the ‘grim’ situation considering the spread of the virus.
To throw away this virus from the root, the second-largest economy in the world has been working tirelessly for the past two years. Massively working out strict lockdown policies and covid testing to attain a zero-covid policy.
Since the start of this month, Shanghai’s cosmopolitan hub is almost under lockdown conditions which resulted in the snarling of supply patterns with the public being restricted to their houses for even a longer time than it became the hotspot or the epicenter of the Pandemic.
BEIJING ALERTS FOR ‘GRIM’ SITUATION AS COVID DEATH TOLL RISES:
The first few fatalities were reported by China’s biggest country on April 18th, even though the records say that the city had already been recording thousands of cases almost every day in the past few weeks.
National Health Commission data showed that 39 deaths had been reported this Sunday. Making the tally up to 87, whereas the country recorded approximately 22,000 fresh new cases.
The previous highest toll in Shanghai was recorded to be 12, even before the implementation of the lockdown.
It has been quite difficult for the city to provide healthy food to the residents confined in the houses, while on the other hand patients have requested regular health care since they’ve been facing troubles in accessing the same as health staff was deployed because of Covid and its treatment.
Pang Xinghuo, a health official stated that “covid has been spreading invisibly as what preliminary observations predict. It has been a few weeks till now since families, tour groups, and students are getting affected.”
In a press briefing, Tian Wei told that “There is a hidden probability that the cases may get spread without even knowing and the situation is grim.”
Beijing must make collective efforts to take control of it.
