Because of her uneasy relationship with ex-husband Johnny Depp, Heard alleges her involvement in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ had been “extremely stripped down.”
Amber Heard confirms that her involvement in Aquaman 2 was cut due to her current court battle involving ex-husband Johnny Depp regarding allegations of mutual violence.
The actress confirmed Monday in her lawsuit that she “tried extremely struggling to stay in the movie,” but that “they didn’t choose to include me in the picture” and that she only shot a “very pared-down version” of her role as Mera.
“I had been offered a script, then given revised copies of the script that had taken out action moments, scenes that represented my part and the other character — without going into specifics — two actors battling with one another,” Heard recalled. “They took a lot of my responsibilities away from me.” “They just took out a bunch.”
“I couldn’t bargain” her contract, the actress continued. Heard revealed that she was paid $2 million for the part, which was double her previous income for the first picture, and that it was the final Aquaman film under her contract. Mera was the female lead and an essential character in the first Aquaman film, released in 2018.
Depp has accused Heard of misrepresentation after an op-ed in The Washington Post recounted their time together but didn’t include Depp. In the essay, she described herself as a “public person representing domestic abuse.” Depp sued for $50 million, claiming that he was being blacklisted by Hollywood due to what he calls a fabrication organized by his ex-wife, who won the case for $100 million.
