Anna Kendrick presented the film at the just concluded Toronto International Film Festival and got several international buyers vying to distribute the film. It shows her standing alongside Stuart Ford of AGC studios sold to these distributors.
Anna Kendrick wears many hats on The Dating Game, from director to actress to producer. He will be producing the film in Vancouver, Canada, at the end of next month.
It tells the story of Cheryl Bradshaw (Kendrick), a single girl on the 1970s romantic reality TV show The Dating Game (yes, the same name as the movie), who unknowingly chooses serial killer Rodney Alcala as her partner.
The film was bought by distributors in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latin America, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

‘Alice, Darling’ Promotion at TIFF
Sales of The Dating Game weren’t the only reason Kendrick attended TIFF, as she also premiered her latest film Alice, Darling, at the event. She received the script two years ago during a difficult period in her life, and it helped her heal from residual trauma.
Alice, Darling displays the story of an emotionally abused woman who finds strength with her girlfriends on a girls’ trip away from her abusive, successful boyfriend. Although Kendrick did not name her abuser, she revealed that she also experienced emotional abuse from a romantic partner a few years ago.
Abuse and violence in intimate relationships can take many forms. These forms of abuse include physical, s*xual, emotional, or mental. Unfortunately, many women falling victim to the cycle are so ashamed that they cannot even talk about their plight with their loved ones.
In Alice, Darling, viewers are introduced to the titular character Alice (played by Anna Kendrick) amid this shame spiral.
Written by Alanna Francis and directed by Mary Nighy, the drama takes an unflinching look at the physical and psychological damage emotional abuse can cause.
