Alia Bhatt skipped Karan Johar’s 50th birthday celebration on May 25 and seemed to have escaped contracting COVID.
Only days before the official party, she left for the set of her first Hollywood movie, Heart Of Stone. Even though she was one of the guests among a few A-listers attending that night, her timeline prevented her from participating in the festivities.
Alia was not permitted entry to India after shooting scenes in the U.K.
“Global shooting has its own set of rules. Nobody is authorized to depart once the team has decided on a place. “Whether or not Alia was necessary for filming on Karan Johar’s b’day, she was just not allowed to make a flight trip,” a source said.
Given the number of visitors at Karan Johar’s celebration who’ve been sickened with COVID, Alia’s travel bans seemed to be a lifesaver.
Alia is filming her first Hollywood production, ‘Heart of Stone,’ in the United Kingdom, alongside Gal Gadot of ‘Wonder Woman’ and Jamie Dornan of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey fame.
Provided the flood of Covid illness that swept Bollywood just after Karan Johar’s birthday party, with reportedly more than 50 guests positive tests, Alia Bhatt’s travel bans became a great blessing, as she avoided the Covid attack that impacted many of the visitors who witnessed Karan Johar’s birthday celebration during the last week of May.
Katrina Kaif, Shahrukh Khan, and Vicky Kaushal were among the several celebs who developed symptoms and declared to have been infected with Covid-19 shortly after the party.
